Penang Golden New Year Countdown Celebration (PG) is not only an iconic event in Penang - since year 2004, but also the biggest year-end celebration in Malaysia judging from last year’s record. It is an open-air celebration where people dance, sing and party together in front of a staged event. The venue is transformed into a highly-anticipating party ground as the audience is captured in the special evening program that includes heart pounding live musical performance. As usual the pinnacle for the evening will be a10-minute-long fireworks, displayed at 0000 hr, to mark the beginning of a new year. Like in previous years, we are expecting 100,000 or more revelers to flood the Padang Esplanade and its vicinity.
